Edtech company Flexcil has announced that it has acquired digital stationery and lifestyle brand Nelna. With this acquisition, Flexcil plans to expand its business beyond its existing learning-focused apps into the digital productivity and self-improvement areas.
Naelna is a brand co-founded by three high school classmates, and has been planning and producing various digital planner content and goods under the slogan, “Make tomorrow your own.”
Nallna has expanded its activities not only to B2C but also to B2B. It has collaborated with various industries such as Emergency Education, Milli's Library, Jeju Air, and Binggrae to produce and deliver brand-tailored digital content, and achieved annual sales of 3 billion won in just 3 years since its establishment.
Kwon Jeong-gu, CEO of Flexcil, said, “Nallna is a team with outstanding growth messages, brand power, and content planning capabilities,” and added, “This acquisition will be an important turning point for Flexcil’s learning tools and Scone platform to provide user growth experiences based on ‘records and learning,’ while expanding into the realm of ‘lifestyle’ together with Nallna.”
Jang Hee-won, CEO of Naelna, said, “We have grown rapidly through fandom-based content planning and branding, and online and offline distribution,” and added, “We expect that this acquisition will allow us to deliver the message of ‘growth’ to more users, and that Naelna’s content will be able to add value in the deeper areas of education and learning.”
