
Cowintech , a leading company in smart factory automation systems, held its regular shareholders’ meeting on the 26th and announced that it had appointed Choi Hyun-soon, former head of the Korean business division of Daifuku IL (International Logistics) Global Division, as the CEO of Cowintech.
Cowintech is expected to make a new leap forward by appointing Hyunsoon Choi, head of the global Korean business division of DAIFUKU Co., Ltd., a global top-tier logistics automation company, as its CEO, thereby strengthening its business stability and global leadership.
The newly appointed CEO, Choi Hyun-soon, has built his career in the automation design sector of Samsung Electronics and the former Samsung Techwin (now Hanwha Aerospace). Since then, in 2000, he has worked at Daifuku, a Japanese company that is the number one company in the global logistics automation system sector, in charge of the engineering headquarters and the Korean business division of the global sector, and has acquired expertise in the overall automation business through global market expansion and large-scale project execution.
Cowintech is planning to establish a foundation for stable business growth through the appointment of new CEO Choi Hyun-soon, as it is pursuing expansion of its process equipment business and acceleration of its AMR business as well as its secondary battery automation equipment, where it has a competitive edge.
The new CEO, Choi Hyun-soon, said, “We will apply the engineering capabilities, design, manufacturing, and construction expertise and know-how we have accumulated at Daifuku to Cowintech’s automation business to enhance the completeness of the overall automation business and accelerate our expansion into the global market by utilizing our global automation business experience and network.”
He added, “In particular, based on our experience in the OHT business, which is a core equipment for semiconductor logistics automation, we plan to secure market competitiveness through rapid business development, such as promoting the development of OHT and OHMS equipment and shortening the development and commercialization period in the existing competitive AMR field.”
A Cowintech official said, “We believe that the appointment of a new CEO who has built up capabilities at the world’s No. 1 automation system company will serve as an opportunity for our company to take a further leap forward as a global company,” adding, “We will also focus on developing automation solutions that can predict new future markets and proactively respond to them, and concentrate on discovering future growth engines.”
