Ministry of SMEs and Startups attends the inauguration ceremony of the 14th Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs and Startups

Vice Minister Kim Seong-seop of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) attended the ‘Inauguration Ceremony of the New Chairman of the Central Federation of SMEs’ held at Lotte City Hotel in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon on the 26th.

The Korea Federation of SMEs was established to pioneer technological convergence and new industries based on exchanges and cooperation between companies in various industries, and is a federation representing 13 regional SME convergence associations with approximately 7,700 member companies nationwide.

Chairman Kang Hwan-soo, who is taking office as the 14th Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs, is the CEO of Deoksan Cotran Co., Ltd., an industrial refrigeration and air conditioning manufacturer in Daegu, and his term as Chairman is three years until February 2028.

On this day, Vice Minister Kim Sung-seop said in his inauguration speech, “The corporate exchange activities promoted by the 13 regional associations across the country centered around the Convergence Central Association play a very important role in creating new opportunities through collaboration and convergence that go beyond the limitations of individual companies.” He also asked, “Based on the capabilities and leadership of the new Chairman Kang Hwan-soo, I urge the Convergence Central Association to play a pivotal role as an innovation builder that drives the leap forward of regional small and medium-sized enterprises.”

Meanwhile, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups said, “We will actively support cooperation and open innovation among SMEs and will not spare policy efforts to enable companies to grow together.”
