The Korea Software Industry Association (Chairman Jo Jun-hee, KOSA) held an explanation session on the application system for software (SW) business operators and technicians at the IT Venture Tower seminar room in Garak-dong, Seoul on the 25th.
The SW business application system is operated based on the Software Promotion Act as a SW technician career verification system. The SW business application system is a mandatory procedure for companies to obtain the legal qualifications necessary to perform software-related business, and through this, they secure the qualifications to participate in the Public Procurement Service's National Marketplace public procurement and opportunities to participate in various government support projects.
The SW engineer career verification system supports engineers to systematically manage their careers, education, and qualifications by officially certifying them. Corporate managers can also efficiently manage business personnel through this system.
This briefing session was held to provide information on the 2025 system, including SW business operator and technician application procedures, criteria, required documents, and precautions, and was attended by approximately 100 SW company representatives. In particular, the precautions were explained in detail during the intensive application period from March to June, thereby increasing the participants’ understanding.
Corporate executives who attended the briefing session said, “Even if the company is already utilizing the system, there are many cases where new employees are not familiar with the application process due to changes in the person in charge,” and “We hope to hold these briefing sessions on a regular basis.”
Jeong Woo-cheol, head of the membership support headquarters, said, “The association is always working to increase the convenience of software business operators and engineers and to improve the administrative efficiency of ordering agencies and related companies and institutions,” and “We will regularly hold explanatory sessions that reflect the opinions of participating companies to support software companies and engineers’ understanding and use of the system and strengthen communication channels with the association.”
Applications for SW business operators can be made through the SW Industry Information System , and applications for SW engineers can be made through the Engineer Career Management System .
