Fit Together, FPP Redesignation and Joint Research with FIFA

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has officially announced that Fit Together, a leading company in the field of Sports Performance Tracking Systems (EPTS), has been re-designated as a 'FIFA Preferred Provider' (FPP). This re-designation is the result of FIFA once again acknowledging Fit Together's outstanding technology and high quality of products.

The FIFA Quality Program is an authoritative system that sets strict quality standards for football equipment and technology and certifies companies that meet them. FitTogether has proven itself as a technology leader in the global football market by continuously maintaining FPP qualification after being the first Asian company to obtain FIFA’s IMS (International Match Standard) certification in 2021. FPP is a qualification granted to technology providers that FIFA particularly prefers in the EPTS field, and through this redesignation, FitTogether has secured an important opportunity to preferentially participate in and cooperate with various competitions and technology development projects hosted by FIFA.

FIFA also announced on its official website that it is conducting a joint research with FitTogether. The proposed model uses Position Dilution of Precision (PDOP), Average Signal Strength and Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) positioning technology to gain a deeper understanding of GNSS signal errors, and to study how to quantify GNSS data performance while taking into account environmental factors such as stadium characteristics and climate. FIFA hopes that this understanding will help inform end users about the benefits and limitations of current technologies, and encourage technology providers to improve their systems for the betterment of football.

FIFA stated, “The joint research with FitTogether provides important insights into the data quality of wearable technology,” and “We believe that the results of this research will accelerate the development of EPTS technology and ultimately contribute to improving the level of scientific analysis in football around the world.” This re-designation as FIFA Preferred Provider is expected to further solidify FitTogether’s position as a global leader in data-driven sports science.

Fit Together has been developing wearable EPTS with various support projects from the Korea Creative Content Agency, the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and the Ministry of Science and ICT under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In addition, it has received over 25 billion won in investment from many influential VCs in Korea. Through such support, it has achieved global results such as FIFA quality certification, FPP, Qatar Apsire Academy partner, and being selected as one of three MLS Innovation Lab companies.

CEO Yoon Jin-seong said, “I am delighted to have our technological strengths recognized once again in the wearable EPTS market, which has been growing rapidly since the COVID-19 pandemic,” adding, “With the support of investors and government agencies, we will now respond by promoting exports through quantitative growth and leading new industries.”
