DLG Law Firm Holds Korea-Japan Startup Forum

Law firm DLG (CEO Attorneys Wonhee Cho and Heechul Ahn) announced on the 26th that it successfully held the Korea-Japan Startup Forum in collaboration with the Korea Startup Forum (Chairman Sangwoo Han, hereinafter referred to as KOSPO ) at Shibuya Startup Support, a global startup support organization in Tokyo, Japan on the 25th.

This forum was organized to promote exchange and cooperation between Korean and Japanese startups and to expand the startup ecosystem. The forum was co-hosted by Law Firm DLG and Korea Startup Forum, and sponsored by Shibuya Startup Support and Asan Nanum Foundation.

About 40 people including Korean and Japanese startup support organizations, venture capitals (VCs), financial institutions, startup companies, and related parties attended the forum. The forum was held under the theme of ‘New Networks, New Markets’ and consisted of presentations on the current status of the startup ecosystems of both countries, sharing of success stories, discussions on global market entry strategies, and networking sessions.

Han Sang-woo, chairman of the Korea Startup Forum, said, “Korea and Japan have startup ecosystems with different strengths, so we will be able to contribute to the growth of the startup industries in both countries through various complementary cooperation in the future.” He added, “KOSPO will also take the lead in strengthening cooperation and networks between the two countries, focusing on major new industries such as AI, robots, healthcare, and blockchain.”

“It is important to support young entrepreneurs with innovative ideas and a spirit of challenge so that they can grow on a bigger stage beyond national borders,” said Eom Yun-mi, chairman of the Asan Nanum Foundation. “The Asan Nanum Foundation will actively support the expansion of the startup ecosystem and the establishment of networks to help them enter the global market.”

Kim Hong-young, head of the Global Business Support Center at DLG Law Firm, said, “I hope this forum will serve as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between Korean and Japanese startups and provide practical support to Korean startups seeking to enter the Japanese market.”
