Funjin participates in 'Avalon 2025'

Defense AI Leading Company Funjin (CEO Deukhwa Kim) will participate in the international air show 'Avalon 2025' held in Melbourne, Australia from the 25th to the 30th. The Avalon International Air Show is Australia's largest air show and defense industry expo held every two years, and Funjin is the first domestic AI specialized company to participate.

A total of 794 companies from 28 countries will participate in this air show to showcase defense technologies in the aircraft and aviation sectors. In Korea, in addition to Pungin, Hanwha Systems, Hanwha Aerospace, and the Korea Aerospace Industries Association (KAIA) participated. Through this exhibition, Pungin plans to demonstrate the overseas competitiveness of its AI-based command and decision support system, ‘KWM (Kill-Web Matching),’ and actively seek to expand into the global market.

KWM is a defense AI solution that identifies enemy targets in battlefield situations and recommends the optimal weapon combination. This can drastically reduce the time it takes for commanders to decide on an attack strategy. It is expected to be a game changer in future battlefields where combat speeds are increasing and weapon systems are becoming more complex.

In fact, KWM's technology was recognized domestically when it successfully completed a test operation in the 'Army Tiger Boost Project' led by the Army in June of last year. This time, it will focus on reflecting the Australian battlefield environment to increase understanding among local customers and to determine export potential.

In addition, it also demonstrates the ability to link intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) assets to support detection and precision strike (sensor to shooter) execution.

At this exhibition, Funjin also presents KWM’s future vision. In particular, the KWM on-device currently under development can be directly mounted on drones, UGVs, etc., and is expected to be the core of the manned-unmanned combined system (MUM-T) power generation and an AI technology that will revolutionize future battlefields.

Also, the synthetic data generation platform 'Eagle-Eye' will be unveiled for the first time at this exhibition. Eagle-Eye can generate synthetic data with minimal information in the defense field where data collection is difficult, and provide precise data that reflects factors such as weather, time, weather station, and terrain.

CEO Kim Deuk-hwa said, “The reason that Funjin participated in this exhibition is because, as a leading defense AI company, we possess software technology that can be installed in various weapon systems on the battlefield.” He added, “As the importance and value of software has been proven in modern warfare, we expect Funjin’s excellent technology to attract great attention in overseas markets as well.”

Meanwhile, Pungjin maintains a close cooperative relationship with Hanwha Systems, which participated in this exhibition, and Korea Aerospace Industries, which participated in the previous exhibition. In fact, they signed strategic partnerships on defense AI technology in 2022 and 2024, respectively. Accordingly, Pungjin plans to strengthen technological exchanges and cooperation with domestic and foreign companies at 'Avalon 2025' to lay the foundation for entering the global defense AI market.
