– The number one criterion for selecting a final company to join is ‘annual salary’, but it’s okay if the salary doesn’t meet the requirement as long as the job is suitable!
– More than half (60%) of new job seekers want to work for 'more than 3 years' at their first job

Contrary to the common belief that 'these days, job seekers only consider salary and work-life balance as their top priorities,' it was found that new job seekers actually consider job fit and length of employment as important as salary when deciding on a job.
According to the results of a survey on the 'Job Preparation Status' conducted by 'Jasoseol.com', the largest domestic new recruiting platform operated by Remember & Company (CEO Choi Jae-ho) on 1,636 new job seekers on the 25th, 90% of all respondents answered, 'I will join the company if the job is suitable even if the salary is not enough.' It was surprising that today's job seekers, who are considered to value salary and work-life balance, placed great value on career growth.
According to the survey results, the most important factor in choosing a company to work for was 'annual salary (35.8%)', which was the most common factor. However, job fit came in second place, at 22.8%. This was followed by 'company name value (14%)', 'work-life balance (10.6%)', and 'growth opportunities (6.7%)'. Surprisingly, work-life balance ranked low.
The impressive response results are that new job seekers said that they would make a final decision to join a company if the job fit was right, even if the salary was not enough. This means that in addition to simply pursuing a stable life such as salary or work-life balance, developing one’s career and achieving meaningful accomplishments are also important factors in choosing a company.
The intention to work long-term was also found to be high. The highest percentage of respondents, 59.6%, answered that they would work for '3 years or more' in the question asking about the desired length of employment at their first job. This was followed by 'less than 3 years (18.8%)', 'less than 2 years (14.3%)', and 'about 1 year (7.3%)'. It is interpreted that new job seekers want to have a stable work life before employment and plan their careers in the long term rather than changing jobs frequently.
Lee Seon-jeong, team leader of the Jasoseol Marketing Team at Remember & Company, said, “Through this survey, we confirmed that Jasoseol.com is home to many new job seekers who value career growth,” emphasizing, “Companies that want to hire excellent talent should consider strategies that can clearly convey detailed job information along with individual growth potential before hiring new employees.”
Meanwhile, Jasoseol.com is the largest new recruiting platform in Korea with a cumulative 1.3 million members, and is used by more than 60% of job seekers from top universities in Korea. It provides various services related to new and junior employment and job changes, and has a high brand satisfaction. Currently, in preparation for the first half of the recruitment season, it is conducting the '2025 First Half Passing Road' campaign to provide practical help to new job seekers preparing for their first recruitment.
