RECO, which operates the business waste collection service 'UpBox', has been selected as one of the 'FT High Growth Companies – Asia-Pacific 2025' jointly announced by the British economic newspaper Financial Times and the global research institute Statista.
In this survey, Ricoh ranked first in the Waste Management & Recycling category and 36th among all companies in the Asia Pacific region, establishing itself as a high-growth environmental company that is attracting global attention.
'Asia Pacific High-Growth Companies' is a list of the 500 companies with the highest sales growth among 13 countries in the Asia Pacific region. The Financial Times publishes this list every year in collaboration with global market research firm Statista, and only the 500 companies with the highest compound annual growth rate (CAGR) out of millions of Asia Pacific companies are included in the final ranking.
In this survey, Ricoh ranked 36th in the Asia Pacific region with an absolute growth rate of 1,703.55% and a compound annual growth rate of 162.25%. In particular, it ranked first in the waste management and recycling sector, drawing attention as the company with the highest growth rate in the industry. Through this, it proved that the marketability of the waste business model is gradually expanding.
Founded in 2018, Ricoh helps various companies such as hotels, manufacturing, and distribution companies manage their waste through its business waste collection service, Upbox. Upbox, which aims to provide a reliable waste collection service, not only provides a collection service with expertise and systematization, but also supports waste discharge management. Through its self-developed Upbox Cloud platform, daily, monthly, and yearly waste discharge monitoring is possible, allowing companies to establish data-based waste reduction plans. In addition, it is automatically linked to the Korea Environment Corporation's 'Olbaro System', making waste reporting easy.
Ricoh said that this selection is significant in that it goes beyond simple corporate performance and is an international recognition of the potential for sustainable growth through waste management innovation.
Kim Geun-ho, CEO of Ricoh, said, “This selection proves that Ricoh’s technology and services are leading the digital transformation of the waste industry and creating real change,” adding, “I am pleased that this goes beyond a simple corporate achievement and serves as an opportunity for Korea’s waste service to be recognized in the global market.”
