Korea Information Engineering and DB Life Insurance to Promote Construction of ‘Generative AI-Based Chatbot Service’

Korea Information Engineering (CEO Bongnam Hwang), a company specializing in IT device distribution and data platforms, announced that it is promoting the first phase of the project related to the ‘construction of a generative AI-based chatbot service’ for DB Life Insurance (hereinafter DB Life) .

Previously, DB Life Insurance had been promoting the 'construction of a generative AI-based chatbot service' for its employees and counselors since November of last year, and as Korea Information Technology was selected as the main operator, it will be responsible for customizing and building servers for operating the chatbot service together with partner companies such as HPE.

As the digital transformation in the insurance industry is accelerating recently, Korea Information Engineering is focusing on implementing services that can satisfy both DB Life’s customers and employees, and to this end, it explained that it plans to integrate AI services that can be utilized in actual businesses, such as data preprocessing, augmented search generation (RAG), storage, and analysis.

In addition, it was reported that all components and solutions required for the service were built on on-premise servers in accordance with the Financial Security Institute's financial sector AI security guidelines, and all documents were encrypted and stored using DRM, complying with data security regulations according to security measures related to special provisions for the use of generative AI and SaaS.

A Korea Information Engineering official said, “For the first phase of the construction project, we are working with HPE PCAI (Private Cloud AI) as a cooperative model company, and are giving priority to knowledge DB construction, AI model optimization, and chatbot development. In the future, we plan to discuss the direction of advancement and additional function development plans.”

He continued, “All processes for building AI services were implemented with HPE’s Ezmeral and EzPipeline packages and DeepNatural’s FRDY,” adding, “We expect that by building the LLMOps platform, we will be able to rapidly develop and expand new generative AI services in the future.”

An HPE official said, “We have developed HPE Private Cloud AI, a turnkey AI infrastructure service, through the experience and know-how we have accumulated through testing and building AI services. Through this, we will support our customers’ business growth by enabling them to quickly and easily introduce AI services in the future.”

A DB Life official said, “We are actively promoting the introduction of GenAI technology to realize customer-centered services through digital innovation,” and “We will successfully complete this project to increase customer satisfaction and provide a differentiated digital financial experience.”

Korea Information Engineering said that after completing the first phase of DB Life's construction project, it is planning an additional second phase project for further performance improvement and service expansion.

Meanwhile, Korea Information Engineering signed a business agreement (MOU) with four companies, including HPE Korea, Deep Natural, Teddy Some, and IMGrew, in July of last year to promote cooperation in the Private Cloud GenAI business, and plans to expand its cloud-generated AI-based solution business through this chatbot service construction project.
