Carrot announced on the 21st that it held a technology exchange meetup with the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) on the 20th at the KISA headquarters in Naju, Jeollanam-do, to share experiences and know-how in mediating disputes over second-hand transactions between individuals.
This meetup was hosted by Carrot as part of public-private cooperation activities, and was held to explore ways to autonomously resolve disputes that arise within the second-hand trading platform. Carrot plans to discuss the direction of development of its own dispute resolution system through this event and expand cooperation to create a safe environment for second-hand trading.
At the meetup, Carrot presented major C2C (Consumer to Consumer) dispute cases that occurred within the platform, the operation method of its own dispute resolution center to resolve them, the mediation system, and technical response measures. In addition, attendees observed KISA’s dispute resolution process and shared technical approaches and cases to establish an effective dispute resolution process.
KISA Director Park Jeong-seop said, “Disputes arising from individual transactions are different from general commerce, so it is very important to resolve disputes quickly while protecting user information,” and “As Carrot’s dispute resolution system is receiving a lot of attention in the C2C sector, we will continue to strengthen our capabilities for rapid dispute resolution and user damage relief through public-private cooperation.”
Lim Seong-min, Team Leader of Carrot’s Service Operations Team, said, “This meetup held at the KISA headquarters was a meaningful opportunity for Carrot and KISA to share the experience and know-how they have accumulated in the field of C2C dispute resolution,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to improve the system and technology of Carrot Dispute Resolution Center for more professional and detailed dispute resolution, and we will also continuously strengthen cooperation with various external organizations.”
Meanwhile, Carrot is the first domestic C2C platform to establish a dedicated organization for autonomous dispute resolution, the Dispute Resolution Center, and is actively intervening in dispute resolution between individuals and realizing user protection. Last September, it held a seminar at Korea University to share Carrot’s dispute resolution cases and research results with academia and industry professionals, and in November, it published a casebook covering representative dispute resolution cases to commemorate the first anniversary of the launch of the Dispute Resolution Center.
