Naver (CEO Choi Soo-yeon) announced on the 21st that it will expand collaboration for the marketing of the clubs and the popularity of Korean professional baseball by signing partnerships with each of the 10 KBO clubs (Doosan Bears, Lotte Giants, Samsung Lions, Kiwoom Heroes, Hanwha Eagles, KIA Tigers, KT Wiz, LG Twins, NC Dinos, and SSG Landers).
As the first step of the marketing partnership, Naver Sports will carry out the 'Intuition Challenge', which was previously conducted as a pilot for some games in the 24th season, for all games in the 25th regular season. The Intuition Challenge is expected to be helpful in the era of 10 million spectators for professional baseball by sharing videos of all moments that can be enjoyed by visiting the stadium in person with other Naver users, and delivering the dynamic appearances of players and cheering scenes, etc. to baseball fans who cannot visit the stadium through Naver Clip.
To participate in the Intuition Challenge, upload a 30-90 second video with the hashtag '#IntuitionChallenge' through the 'Make a Clip' button on the My Place page of the Naver app, the Naver Blog app, and the Naver TV app. Detailed instructions on how to participate in the Intuition Challenge will be provided through the QR code provided on the scoreboard or at the seats at the game site. If you participate in the Intuition Challenge, you will be given goods from each team through a raffle.
Also, Naver held a briefing session on Naver's technology that connects online and offline for marketing managers from 10 teams at the Naver 1784 building on the 12th to expand marketing collaboration with KBO teams. At the briefing session, discussions continued on various ways to provide new experiences to fans, such as allowing users who enjoyed the Intuition Challenge video to store baseball game tickets purchased through Naver Reservation and Naver Pay in the form of NFTs in the Naver Pay Wallet, a non-custodial digital asset wallet, and participate in events based on these, and implementing a smart stadium using digital twins and robot technology.
Naver Sports Joo Geon-beom, the leader of Naver Sports, said, “The marketing partnership between the 10 KBO teams and Naver Sports has enabled us to begin more collaborations,” and “Naver Sports will continue to work to create a flow where baseball fans can experience various things on Naver and those experiences can lead back to the game site.”
