Zordi, a U.S. robot AI startup, announced that it plans to expand into the global market by collaborating with Floatic, a Korean robot automation company. Through this collaboration, Zordi plans to expand its business to agricultural automation based on swarm mobile manipulators.
Jordi is a Khosla Ventures-backed company that develops an agricultural automation system that combines AI and robotics. This reduces labor costs by up to 80%, and is commercializing strawberry picking robots in the New Jersey and New York areas. Jordi is also expanding its business model by operating its own production facilities and partner farms to provide both agricultural production and robotic automation.
Plotik is a Korean robot startup that provides warehouse automation solutions based on swarm autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). It has continued to grow through collaborations with major partners such as LogisAll, Hyundai Motor Company, and TechTaka. Recently, it has strengthened its autonomous driving and robot control technology through research collaboration with KAIST, and is pursuing entry into global markets such as the US and Japan. In addition, it has attracted investments from Naver, Kakao, Hyundai Motor Company, and the Industrial Bank of Korea (KDB), and its technological prowess and market expansion potential have been recognized.
Through this collaboration, Jordi plans to expand its AI-robotics automation solutions in the US and Korean markets by leveraging Plotik’s technological prowess and Korean market network. Gilwoo Lee, CEO of Jordi, said, “Plotik is a fast-growing, promising robotics automation company that is expected to create great synergy when combined with Jordi’s AI and manipulation technologies,” and “Through this collaboration, we will accelerate robotics automation innovation in various industries, not just agriculture.”
“We are confident that Jordi’s pioneering AI-robotics technology and Flotik’s logistics automation solutions and network will create immediate synergy,” said Lee Chan, CEO of Flotik.
