Techno Valley, Gangwon Joint Pavilion Operation for the 40th International Medical Device and Hospital Equipment Exhibition

Wonju Medical Device Techno Valley (Director Jong-Hyeon Han, hereinafter referred to as Techno Valley) announced that it will operate the Gangwon Joint Pavilion with the support of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Jin-Tae Kim) and Wonju City (Mayor Kang-Soo Won) at the 40th International Medical Device & Hospital Equipment Exhibition (KIMES 2025) to be held at COEX in Seoul from the 20th to the 23rd.

The Korea International Medical Device & Hospital Equipment Show (KIMES) is Korea's largest medical device and hospital equipment show with a history of 40 years since its first event in 1980. Approximately 1,300 companies and 70,000 medical professionals from around the world participate in the event every year.

The foundation has been operating a joint pavilion and participating in the KIMES exhibition since 2007, and a total of 23 companies will participate in the Gangwon Joint Pavilion at this exhibition, which will be operated with 59 booths. The Gangwon Joint Pavilion is expected to serve as a bridgehead for promoting products from excellent medical device companies in the province and strengthening networking with domestic and international buyers and medical professionals.

In particular, the foundation will operate a public relations center to introduce major government projects currently being carried out and provide guidance on various support projects for medical device companies to utilize. In addition, a special exhibition hall for digital healthcare will be set up to showcase innovative technologies in the Gangwon medical industry. In addition, it plans to actively carry out promotional activities to attract companies to participate in the Gangwon Medical Device Exhibition and the Gangwon Joint Pavilion at overseas exhibitions.

During the exhibition period, various side events will be held to actively support the overseas market entry of Gangwon medical device companies. This event will provide practical information and customized support to help companies compete and effectively enter overseas markets.

Through the Indonesian and Vietnamese medical device market entry briefing, the latest trends and entry strategies in the major Southeast Asian medical device markets are shared. The digital lab-on-a-chip industry trends and licensing seminar introduces the latest technology trends, domestic and international licensing procedures, and corporate support projects to advance lab-on-a-chip-based in vitro diagnostic technology.

The Medical Device International Certification Support Center will hold overseas certification seminars to share global certification acquisition strategies and approval cases, and provide practical guidance to companies preparing to enter overseas markets. In addition, it plans to conduct 1:1 medical device approval consulting and digital healthcare security living lab consulting so that participating companies can receive customized support for certification procedures and security technology application methods required for overseas expansion.

Techno Valley CEO Jong-Hyeon Han said, “Through participation in this exhibition, we expect that the excellence of Gangwon’s medical device industry will be further recognized in domestic and international markets, and this will lead to increased sales for companies in the province.”

In addition, Wonju City Mayor Won Kang-soo said, “We will actively support Gangwon medical device companies so that they can strengthen their competitiveness in domestic and international markets through KIMES 2025 and create opportunities to expand exports.”
