Hansae Industrial and Hongik University Establish 'Next Design Lab'

Global fashion ODM company Hansae Industrial (CEO Kim Ik-hwan, Kim Kyung) announced on the 20th that it has established the 'Next Design Lab' with Hongik University to foster global fashion experts. Hansae Industrial aims to lead the globalization of K-fashion by fostering fashion talents with practical capabilities.

'Next Design Lab' is an educational program where experts from related companies and professors from Hongik University work together to foster talents with practical skills. Hansae Industry is committed to fostering talents with practical skills covering the entire fashion industry from product development to management. Vice Chairman Kim Ik-hwan will serve as an adjunct professor at Next Design Lab and personally conduct lectures, and Hansae Industry executives and employees who are currently working in the industry will also serve as instructors. Vice Chairman Kim Ik-hwan and Hansae Industry executives and employees plan to contribute to fostering talents that meet global standards by conducting lectures with a sense of reality based on their specialized practical experience in the global fashion ODM industry.

The first Next Design Lab, which began with Vice President Kim Ik-hwan’s first lecture on the 4th, will run for a total of 15 weeks. After each class, a presentation and exhibition will be held, and excellent students will be provided with various benefits such as scholarships, training opportunities, and document screening for Hansae Industry recruitment. In the first lecture held on the 4th, Vice President Kim Ik-hwan shared the latest trends in the global fashion market and had a Q&A with students. In the future, Hansae Industry plans to further enhance the curriculum by expanding the program and holding design competitions.

On the 20th, Hansae Industrial also held a press conference to commemorate the establishment of the Next Design Lab. At the press conference held at Hongik University’s Art & Design Valley, Vice Chairman Kim Ik-hwan of Hansae Industrial and President Park Sang-joo of Hongik University attended and presented the introduction of the Next Design Lab, its operation plan, and future vision.

Hongik University President Park Sang-joo, who gave a congratulatory address that day, said, “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Hansae Industry, a leader in the global fashion industry, for taking the lead in fostering global fashion experts,” and expressed his gratitude by saying, “We will continue to foster global talents who will achieve the globalization of K-fashion together with Hansae Industry.”

Vice President Kim Ik-hwan, who is also an adjunct professor at Next Design Lab, emphasized, “As K-fashion is receiving attention worldwide, it has become more important to foster global fashion experts with practical capabilities.” He added, “Based on the know-how and knowledge that Hansae Industries has accumulated in the global fashion market for over 40 years, we will do our best to foster excellent talent needed by global fashion companies.”

Meanwhile, Hansae Industrial is carrying out various social contribution activities for fostering global talents at home and abroad. Recently, Hansae Industrial Guatemala branch donated Korean language textbooks to the Korean language education department of the University of Guatemala, and the Vietnamese branch has been carrying out the '10,000 Books – Millions of Love' program since 2017, donating a total of 10,000 books on Vietnam's 'Book Day (April 23)' every year. In addition, since 2013, it has been continuously participating in the 'PACE (Personal Advancement & Career Enhancement)' campaign carried out by the global fashion brand 'GAP', supporting education for the personal development and capacity enhancement of female workers.
