The Pinkfong Company and YouTube Sign 'Digital Wellbeing Agreement for Children and Youth'

Global family entertainment company The Pink Fong Company announced on the 19th that it signed a 'digital wellbeing agreement for children and youth' with global video community YouTube.

Through this agreement, the two companies plan to develop high-quality content that can have a positive impact on children and teenagers around the world and promote qualitative growth in the YouTube market. As a leader in K-content with super IPs such as 'Pinkfong' and 'Baby Shark', The Pinkfong Company provides over 7,000 pieces of content in 25 languages in 244 regions around the world. 18 global content creators and companies, including The Pinkfong Company, participated in this agreement.

In particular, through this agreement, The Pinkfong Company plans to support children and adolescents to experience high-quality content appropriate for their age and take the lead in creating a healthy YouTube culture. The Pinkfong Company designs a curriculum tailored to the monthly developmental stage, and has been conducting inspections throughout the entire content production process by operating a Cultural Sensitivity Task Force (TFT) since 2021. Through this process, the 'Bebepin' series, which recorded 26 billion cumulative views on YouTube, and the 'Pinkfong Wonderstar' series, which entered the Netflix Top 10, were born.

In addition, The Pink Fong Company plans to produce educational videos that foster media literacy and digital citizenship and release them on its YouTube channel, app, and FAST (ad-supported free streaming service). Through this, it plans to support digital well-being so that children can autonomously manage their media usage time, utilize the information they acquire from media beneficially, and develop the ability to discriminately interpret media content.

YouTube CEO Neil Mohan said, “YouTube will support the development of quality content for children and youth through digital wellness agreements with global content production companies, including The Pinkfong Company.” He also said, “Digital wellness is YouTube’s top priority, and this agreement is the result of that long-term effort.”

The Pinkfong Company’s Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) Kwon Bit-na said, “We have been working hard to produce quality content with educational value throughout the entire process from the planning stage to review and release on YouTube,” and “Through this agreement, we will work with global industry leaders to ensure that children and adolescents can watch content and grow in a safe digital environment.”
