Beauty and healthcare brand Cellreturn announced on the 19th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with the Korean Women Doctors Association (Chairperson Park So-yeon) to seek cooperation measures to promote national health.
The Korean Women's Association of Oriental Medicine is a medical organization comprised of female Oriental medicine doctors, and is carrying out various activities to advance Oriental medicine and enhance the professionalism of female Oriental medicine doctors. It focuses on securing scientific basis for Oriental medicine treatment and enhancing the clinical capacity of Oriental medicine doctors through domestic and international academic research and establishment of structures, academic exchanges, and medical policy proposals.
Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to explore ways to utilize the Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field (PEMF) technology. Specifically, they plan to pursue various academic research activities, such as clinical trials to examine the effectiveness of PEMF technology for patients with arthritis or other types of pain.
PEMF is known to help adjust body balance or aid healing processes with a wide range of chemical and electrical stimulation while increasing the reduced cellular energy carrier 'adenosine triphosphate (ATP)' by up to 500%, and is utilized in various fields such as massage machines. The wellness home care device 'EXLUX' released by Cellreturn last year is a representative product that utilizes PEMF.
According to major academic papers, PEMF is known to be effective in improving cell metabolism, reducing inflammation, relieving pain, healing tissues, and strengthening muscles. In addition, academic papers are continuously being published that confirm various effects, such as ▲improving knee osteoarthritis and pain ▲stimulating growth plates ▲treating delayed-onset muscle soreness ▲managing postoperative pain and swelling ▲alleviating muscle oxygenation and skin tissue necrosis ▲improving atopic dermatitis.
An Ixlux official said, “PEMF technology has been known to have various pain-improving effects through various overseas studies,” and “This business agreement with the Korean Women’s Medical Association was pursued to see if it is sufficiently effective for domestic pain patients through academic research activities such as clinical trials.”
Meanwhile, the Korean Women Medical Association operates mentoring and education programs for female students and new Korean medicine doctors, and is also contributing to expanding the role of female medical professionals. In addition, it is striving to provide health information using digital platforms such as SNS and YouTube so that the public can easily understand the health value of Korean medicine and apply it to their daily lives. Through this, it is also contributing to expanding the base of Korean medicine by interpreting traditional Korean medicine in a modern way and introducing health management methods that are friendly to the public.
