The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) announced on the 19th that it will recruit participating companies for the '2025 Global Startup Business Support Project'.
The Global Startup Business Support Project is designed to promote domestic startups by foreign entrepreneurs and overseas startups with technological capabilities, and all procedures from recruitment announcements to application, acceptance, and selection evaluation are conducted in English.
If selected for this project, you will be provided with commercialization funds (up to 60 million won) required for business model advancement and localization, as well as investment attraction and collaboration programs for large and medium-sized companies operated by the Global Startup Center.
Since last year, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups has been actively promoting policies to revitalize inbound startups (domestic startups by foreign entrepreneurs), including the opening of the Global Startup Center, a space to support foreign startups, and the establishment of a special Startup Korea visa.
The Global Startup Business Support Project is also part of the inbound activation policy. When it was introduced on a trial basis in 2024, 102 companies applied for 10 positions, showing a competition rate of over 10 to 1.
Kyung-won Cho, Director General of Startup Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, “We will promote the globalization of the startup ecosystem so that our startup ecosystem can take a leap forward based on global diversity,” and added, “I hope that this support project will help innovative global startups flow into the Korean startup ecosystem and serve as a stepping stone for them to grow domestically.”
More detailed recruitment information can be found on the Ministry of SMEs and Startups or K-Startup website, and applications for support programs can be submitted online through the Global Startup Center (GSC) website from the 19th to April 11th.
