
Fitpet (CEO Jeong-wook Ko), a leader in healthy companion animal lifestyles, announced on the 19th that it has signed a distribution contract with Softcream Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeong-mi Park) for the cat specialty product brand Bonico.
According to the '2023 Korea Pet Report' published by the KB Financial Group Management Research Institute, as of the end of 2022, the total number of households raising pets in Korea was 5.52 million, of which 27.1%, or about 1.5 million households, were raising cats. The pet cat market is also growing along with this trend. The domestic cat food market size in 2022 is expected to be approximately 1.3 trillion won, and not only the cat food market but also the toilet products market, which is considered the most important when raising a pet cat, are expanding, and there is fierce competition in high-end products and ideas to meet the needs of guardians while considering the habits of cats.
Fitpet has signed a distribution contract with cat supplies brand Bonico, and will be introducing Bonico's three proud cat litter products, 'Single Origin', 'Dual Perfect', and 'Green Edition', as well as the 'Tunnel House Hide and Seek Scratcher' product.
Bonico's cat litter products are made with the world's best quality natural bentonite from Erzincan, Turkey as the main ingredient. 'Single Origin' is made with palm activated carbon, so it has almost no dust and has excellent deodorizing effects. 'Dual Perfect' is made with bentonite and cassava sand, so it boasts absorbency and strong coagulation. 'Green Edition' is a Dual Perfect product that adds cypress, which is excellent for antibacterial and deodorizing, to take into consideration both the cat's health and the owner's taste.
The special feature of Bonico products is that the cylinders used as packaging materials can be combined with the 'Bonico Tunnel House' to be used as hiding places and scratching posts for cats. It satisfies the tastes of cats who like boxes and corners, while also considering the environment by recycling packaging materials that would otherwise be thrown away as cat toys.
