– Full refund if buyer complains about quality, increasing trust in online fresh food
-“Unconditionally lower than market price” Vegetable special sale event also implemented… Spring vegetable sales triple in one year

'Sikbom', an open market for food ingredients exclusively for restaurant operators, announced on the 17th that it has introduced a 'freshness guarantee system' that provides unconditional full refunds if members are dissatisfied with the quality or freshness of fresh vegetables they have purchased.
If a complaint is received about fresh vegetables purchased from Sikbom, it is an unprecedented policy that provides immediate compensation without complicated procedures. Depending on the sales member, it is a full refund or 100% compensation in the form of a coupon.
After discussion with fresh vegetable sales members, Sikbom agreed that 'there is a need to increase trust in online purchases' and introduced a freshness guarantee system.
In the largest online community for self-employed people, “Because I’m Sick, I’m the Boss,” complaints about the quality of vegetables purchased online frequently appear. A Busan-based restaurant owner who runs a chicken restaurant complained about the stress caused by quality issues, saying, “I requested an exchange for the onions that were delivered but they were rejected because they were past their expiration date.”
Fresh vegetables currently account for 16% of food sales, making them one of the main sources of revenue. Onions, garlic, green onions, and cabbage are among the top sellers, and since they are essential products for the restaurant industry, freshness is very important.
In addition, Sikbom is considering a 'special price event' from the 17th to the end of next month, selling major vegetables at a lower price than the market price, considering the recent surge in vegetable prices that have increased the burden on restaurant business owners. According to Sikbom's own survey, prices of radish, cabbage, water parsley, and Chinese cabbage have risen by 30-120% over the past year.
Sikbom's fresh vegetable sales jumped 4.3 times from 560.6 million won in February of last year to 2.44078 billion won in February of this year. Sikbom analyzed that this was because the existing major distributors such as CJ Freshway, Daesang Corporation, and Dongwon Home Food, as well as the Nonghyup Auction Center, had a system in place to supply a variety of high-quality agricultural products, and the number of regular customers purchasing fresh vegetables increased due to active marketing and word of mouth.
A senior leader in charge of Sikbom’s operations said, “The key is not to compensate for products that are not fresh, but to promise to supply only fresh products to buyers,” adding, “We will build trust so that customers can buy from Sikbom with confidence even without having to check the freshness with their eyes.”
