
The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Korea Technology Finance Corporation, Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as KIBO) announced on the 18th that it signed a 'Business Agreement for Industry- Academia Joint R&D Cooperation Project' with Incheon Technopark (President Lee Joo-ho) , Incheon Intellectual Property Center (Director Kwon Ho-chang), and Inha University Industry-Academia Cooperation Foundation (Director Kim Dong-wook).
This agreement was created to support the innovative growth of small and medium-sized enterprises by discovering small and medium-sized enterprises with technology transfer needs and linking them with universities that possess excellent technology. To this end, Kibo and three related organizations in the Incheon area will help match technology between small and medium-sized enterprises and university researchers and support smooth R&D. They will also strive to promote successful technology transfer and commercialization of local technology companies.
According to the agreement, each organization agreed to ▲establish and operate a cooperative system to discover genuine demand from SMEs and support responses, ▲jointly plan and operate support programs based on demand from SMEs, and ▲cooperate to introduce technologies needed by companies from outside, such as linking resources owned by the organizations and providing information.
In addition, KIBO plans to support the strengthening of corporate research capabilities by jointly planning and operating customized support programs with partner organizations and small and medium-sized enterprises, and to take the lead in creating a technology-based innovation growth ecosystem by fostering open technological innovation and startups and venture companies in the region.
Kibo Director Cheon Chang-ho, who attended the signing ceremony, said, “Kibo is actively supporting open technological innovation through programs to support technological innovation and step-by-step growth for small and medium-sized and venture companies,” and “We will continue to do our best to expand cooperation with relevant regional organizations so that the growth of excellent technological companies can lead to revitalization of the local economy.”
