Watt, Japan's Yamato Transport Signs Export Agreement for Robot Courier Delivery Solution

Watt, which provides robot delivery solutions, announced on January 28 that it signed an export contract for robot delivery solutions with Japanese logistics company Yamato Transport.

Watt verified its technology and usability through a demonstration run at Yamato Transport headquarters in Tokyo, Japan in July of last year, and in September, the two companies signed a business agreement (MOU) for the introduction and verification of a robot delivery service in Japan. After that, they went through the work of improving and localizing the operating scenario suitable for Japanese apartment complexes and signed this supply contract. Through this, the two companies will pursue a full-fledged strategic cooperation for the introduction and verification of robot delivery solutions.

Yamato Transport is actively developing next-generation logistics technology and aims to improve operational efficiency by utilizing robots. Watt’s autonomous driving delivery technology enables unmanned parcel delivery even in complex indoor environments.

Watt’s robot delivery solution is scheduled to be tested in luxury residential complexes and high-rise office buildings in Tokyo in 2025. During the test period, Yamato Transport plans to verify the robot parcel delivery operation model within buildings in cooperation with major construction companies in Japan.

Choi Jae-won, CEO of Watt, said, “During the verification period, we will do our best to improve the service completeness within Japan’s building environment and to link with Yamato Transport’s transportation system so that Watt’s robot delivery system can be stably established in the Japanese market.”
