Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Economic and Science Promotion Agency (Gyeonggi Agency) are recruiting participants for the '2025 Gyeonggi Startup Competition (G-Star Audition)' from March 17 to April 18.
The 'Gyeonggi Startup Competition' is a startup competition open to prospective entrepreneurs and companies established within the past 7 years nationwide. It discovers entrepreneurs with excellent startup ideas without regional restrictions and provides them with commercialization funds and opportunities to expand into the global market.
Starting this year, it will be integrated with the 'G-Star Audition', the representative IR program of the Gyeonggi-do representative global startup fair 'Gyeonggi Startup Summit'. Accordingly, it will be reborn as a 'global startup competition' with participation from domestic and foreign startups, venture capitals (VCs), and overseas investment attraction experts, going beyond the existing domestic-centered competition.
Participants can apply to either the 'Preliminary/Early League' for aspiring entrepreneurs and companies established within the past 3 years, or the 'Global League' for companies established within the past 7 years that wish to expand overseas.
The competition will proceed in the following order: preliminary round (document evaluation), main round (presentation evaluation), and final round (on-site public presentation). In particular, the final round will be conducted as an open presentation evaluation at the site of the global startup fair 'Gyeonggi Startup Summit' in conjunction with the fair.
The 10 teams (companies) that are finally selected will receive a total of 115 million won in prize money and a plaque in the name of the Gyeonggi Province Governor and the Gyeonggi Province Economic Science Promotion Agency Director. The first place winner will receive 30 million won in prize money for the Global League and 20 million won for the Preliminary/Initial League. In addition, the finalists will receive benefits such as startup planning (acceleration) such as expert mentoring and priority booth provision at the Global Startup Expo.
The recruitment period is from March 17 to April 18, and applications for participation can be submitted online at the Gyeonggi Enterprise Secretary website . Detailed announcement information can also be found on the Gyeonggi Startup Platform .
Gyeonggi Province plans to discover companies with innovative startup items through this competition and support their growth into global startups. In particular, it will focus on expanding opportunities to attract overseas investment and strengthening the competitiveness of startups.
Park Yang-deok, head of Gyeonggi Province’s Venture Startup Division, said, “As the startup market is shrinking due to the global economic slowdown, I hope that this ‘Gyeonggi Startup Competition (G-Star Audition)’ will provide a chance for startups with high growth potential to make a leap forward,” adding, “Gyeonggi Province will continue to actively support the revitalization of the startup ecosystem and the fostering of global startups.”
