SG Healthcare Signs Business Agreement with Cheongdam Harrison Hospital

SG Healthcare , a specialized manufacturer of imaging diagnostic medical devices, is working with its subsidiary Mint Labs and Cheongdam Harrison Hospital to innovate the next generation of rehabilitation medicine. They announced on the 18th that they recently signed a business agreement (MOU) for the development of medical AI-based rehabilitation robots. The goal of this agreement is to jointly develop rehabilitation robots that incorporate AI technology and put them into practice in medical settings.

Through this agreement, the three organizations plan to focus on leading smart healthcare technologies such as ▲developing patient-tailored rehabilitation treatment technology and ▲establishing an AI analysis system based on medical data. In addition, they plan to strengthen joint research in the future to conduct clinical trials and expand collaboration with domestic and foreign hospitals and research institutes. They also plan to actively promote the commercialization of AI-based rehabilitation robots by cooperating with the government and related organizations.

AI-based rehabilitation robots are designed to help rehabilitate patients with impaired motor function due to stroke, musculoskeletal diseases, sports injuries, etc. The core of this robot is its ability to analyze the patient’s biometric data in real time and provide customized exercise prescriptions and feedback. This is expected to enable more precise and effective treatment than existing rehabilitation treatments.

Through this agreement, SG Healthcare will be in charge of developing robot hardware and medical devices using medical equipment that is currently under development and sales, while Mint Labs will apply AI algorithms and data analysis technology to establish a patient-tailored treatment process. Cheongdam Harrison Hospital will serve as a clinical research and test bed, verifying the effectiveness of rehabilitation robots in actual clinical environments and optimizing treatment based on patient data.

“As we enter an aging society and chronic diseases increase, the importance of rehabilitation treatment is growing,” said SG Healthcare CEO Kim Jeong-su. “Through this collaboration, we will do our best to ensure that AI-based rehabilitation robots can contribute to maximizing treatment effectiveness and efficiency.”
