As the 'Smart Factory & Automation Industry Exhibition (SF AW 2025)' was held at COEX in Samseong-dong from the 12th to the 14th, Vieworks , a medical and industrial imaging solution specialist, announced that it had introduced its core AI image processing solutions along with a keynote speech at the 'AI Machine Vision Technology Seminar.'
This seminar was held to explore domestic machine vision technology trends and successful technology utilization methods, and Vieworks unveiled its 'High-Speed Multi-Mode Imaging Solution for Improving AI Image Processing Performance' and explained the technology trends and challenges to be solved to increase 'detection discrimination', which is important in AI image processing. In particular, Vieworks introduced two types of automated optical inspection (AOI) solutions: 'TDI Dual Imaging Solution' and 'Area Multi-Mode Imaging Solution'.
Detection discrimination is an indicator that evaluates the ability of AI to accurately distinguish and detect detailed defects, and the ability to identify major defects in various environments has become important recently. To this end, demand for automatic optical inspection systems that can obtain various images with just one scan is increasing.
Vieworks' 'TDI Dual Imaging Solution' is a 0.5 micrometer resolution imaging solution that combines a high-sensitivity camera and an ultra-precision lens. It boasts 1.8 times higher sensitivity than conventional solutions by using a Back Side Illuminated (BSI) TDI line scan camera. This solution excels in defect detection performance in low-light environments and can acquire images of bright field and dark field illumination with a single scan, making it advantageous for detecting foreign substances and defects in the display panel manufacturing process, backplane, and EVEN processes.
The 'Area Multi-Mode Imaging Solution' is a high-resolution imaging solution with a resolution of 1 micrometer, and supports an ultra-high-speed shooting speed of 454 frames per second by applying 'CoaXpress over fiber', a next-generation machine vision interface. This solution can simultaneously acquire multiple images under various lighting conditions while moving at high speed, showing high usability in display and semiconductor packaging processes, PCB original plate inspection, etc.
“Existing automatic optical inspection systems required various lighting and settings to detect defects, but Vieworks’ technology enables simultaneous acquisition of auto focus and multiple images, providing a one-stop machine vision solution that meets our customers’ needs,” said Kwon Hyuk-hoon, Director of Vieworks’ Optical and Imaging Research Lab.
