The Super-Large AI Promotion Council Publishes a Report on Advancing AI Infrastructure Strategy

The Korea Software Industry Association (Chairman Jo Jun-hee, KOSA) 's Super-Large AI Promotion Council has published the 'AI Infrastructure Advanced Strategy Proposal Report'.

Since September of last year, the Super-Large AI Promotion Council has been continuously conducting research on AI infrastructure policies, including holding a ‘Symposium of Industry, Academia, and Research to Secure AI Semiconductors’ with domestic AI semiconductor experts.

This report emphasizes the need for a comprehensive approach to AI infrastructure as a platform consisting of various components such as hardware, network, software, governance, and energy, focusing on the complex nature of AI infrastructure. It explained that since existing AI infrastructure strategies focus on individual technology development, it is now time for policy support that considers the linkages and virtuous cycle structure between various elements.

In addition, it proposed six policy directions: ▲ AI system SW development support focused on the connection between AI infrastructure components, ▲ expansion of AI computing center operation, ▲ support for multi-layered infrastructure elements, ▲ establishment of AI usability and diffusion platform, ▲ expansion of university AI infrastructure supply, and ▲ operation of AI prototype platform.

Association Chairman Cho Jun-hee said, “We have presented a direction for nationwide investment and support from the perspective of strengthening the linkage and virtuous cycle structure between various components of AI infrastructure,” and added, “We will continue to research AI infrastructure policies as a complex technology platform based on opinions from the industry.”

“Since AI infrastructure is a platform that requires complex technologies, it is essential to have policy support that focuses on the linkage and virtuous cycle structure between each element centered around the National AI Computing Center,” said Ha Jung-woo, head of Naver Cloud AI Innovation Center (head of the Infrastructure and Industrial Ecosystem Division of the Super Large-Scale AI Promotion Council), who led this policy report. “We will continue to present opinions from the industry for the advancement of AI infrastructure in the future.”
