The signing ceremony held at KBO headquarters on the 11th was attended by key officials including Socar CEO Jae-wook Park and KBO Commissioner Gu-yeon Heo.
Through this joint marketing, SOCAR will support reasonable transportation for baseball fans visiting stadiums by utilizing 23,000 vehicles operated in approximately 5,000 SOCAR zones located nationwide. In particular, it plans to utilize 3,000 vehicles deployed in 650 SOCAR zones near a total of 60 KTX stations to help fans visit stadiums located in Seoul, Incheon, Suwon, Daejeon, Gwangju, Daegu, Busan, and Changwon more conveniently.
In addition, they will strengthen joint marketing using KBO League content, such as promoting joint Socar-KBO events, special transportation support promotions for baseball fans, and holding promotions for parking lots near baseball stadiums using Socar's online parking platform 'Everyone's Parking Lot'.
According to Socar data, the number of Socar members visiting baseball stadiums has also skyrocketed due to the popularity of baseball, which surpassed 10 million spectators for the first time last year. The number of Socar vehicles used within 1km of nine baseball stadiums, including Jamsil Seoul Sports Complex and Gocheok Sky Dome, during the 2024 regular season increased by 35% year-on-year. The time spent parked within 1km of the baseball stadium also jumped by 51%. In particular, the number of Socar uses and parked times near Suwon KT Wiz Park have both increased by more than threefold.
KBO Commissioner Heo Gu-yeon said, “I am always thinking about how KBO League fans across the country can visit the stadium more comfortably and enjoyably,” and added, “I am happy to be able to provide more benefits and convenience to fans with Socar, and KBO will also work harder so that we can develop together.”
