XYG, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based service robot company, has supplied five of its cutting-edge robot baristas, ‘Barisbrew,’ to the newly opened Shidae Talent N boarding school in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. This is an example of innovative technology application in an educational environment, and aims to provide students with the best coffee service and smart technology experience.
The Sidae Injae N boarding school is the largest boarding school in Korea, and has a single-room dormitory for top students and a customized learning system. In this space designed to maximize learning immersion, Barisbrew contributes to improving students’ concentration by providing high-quality coffee 24 hours a day. In addition, students can experience the latest AI robot technology up close and personal.
The newly introduced Barisbrew is a fully automated cafe system that performs everything from app pre-order payment to providing 24 beverages, serving three snacks, smart pickup service, voice guidance, and music playback. In addition, it has significantly improved service quality and operational efficiency by applying a smart pickup zone and AI-based vision technology. XYZ plans to further enhance the usability and stability of robots by additionally applying environmental recognition and response technology, digital twin-based remote control technology, and multimodal user-robot interaction technology in the future.
Meanwhile, popular college entrance exam content creator 'Mimi Minu' visited 'Lounge X 24h Seongsu Branch', a cafe operated by XYZ, to experience the barisbrew applied to the Shidae Talent N boarding school and met the robot barista. He also visited the lab at XYZ headquarters to look into next-generation technology and released a video of the experience on his YouTube channel 'Column Supply'.
XWIG is focusing on integrating robot technology into everyday life and increasing the utilization of robots in various industrial fields.
