Meissa, a spatial information analysis company, announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for strategic cooperation with IMPRO of Turkey. Through this agreement, Meissa has laid the foundation for exporting satellite-based solutions to the Turkish and neighboring markets, and plans to provide services combining IMPRO’s satellite images and Meissa’s solutions in the Korean market as well.
Meisa is a company that aims to innovate productivity in various industries through satellite and drone-based spatial data analysis. Its main products include construction site monitoring and collaboration solutions, golf course management solutions, and remote monitoring solutions using satellite images. It is also commercializing products that improve data quality by converting low-resolution satellite images into high-resolution images using AI-based super resolution technology.
IMPRO is a subsidiary of the Turkish Defense Acquisition Program Administration, and is a company that utilizes and processes images from Turkish reconnaissance and observation satellites. Satellite images are basically of low resolution, so super-resolution technology is essential. Meisa's super-resolution technology is showing great results in improving the accuracy of object detection and analysis by converting low-resolution satellite images into high-resolution images.
The key objective of this MOU is to sell Meisa’s satellite-based solutions to the Turkish and neighboring markets, and to provide services combining IMPRO’s imagery and Meisa’s technology in the Korean market. To this end, the two companies will cooperate in various areas, including artificial intelligence (AI)-based analysis technology, satellite image data utilization, technology commercialization, and market development.
Kim Dong-young, CEO of Meysa, said, “Through this MOU, Meysa has established a bridgehead for full-scale entry into the Turkish and neighboring markets,” and “Through cooperation with IMPRO, we plan to supply satellite-utilizing solutions to a wider range of markets and provide innovative services that combine IMPRO’s images and Meysa’s AI technology in Korea.” CEO Kim added, “We are aiming for our first export within the first half of this year, and through this, we hope to gain recognition for Meysa’s technological prowess in the global market.”
