Mesacure Company and Sanha Information Technology Sign 'Facial Recognition Solution Supply Agreement'

Vision AI specialist Mesacure Company announced on the 12th that it signed a contract with hospitality IT solution company Sanha Information Technology to supply facial recognition solutions and will apply this to an identity verification system to prevent mixed-gender accommodations for minors.

Recently, there have been continuous cases of illegal mixed-gender accommodations for minors in domestic accommodation facilities, and social concerns are growing. Accordingly, the legal responsibility of accommodation facilities for violations of the Youth Protection Act and security vulnerabilities are being debated, and the need to supplement the limitations of existing ID verification methods is being raised.

Accordingly, Mesacure Company and Sanha Information Technology plan to introduce a more thorough identity verification and authentication system by applying AI-based facial recognition technology. Through this, accommodation facilities will be able to prevent minors from sharing rooms in advance, reduce legal risks, and provide customers with a safer and more convenient accommodation environment.

Through this contract, Mesacure Company will provide its AI facial recognition solution in conjunction with Sanha Information Technology’s smart kiosk and property management system (PMS). Mesacure’s facial recognition technology boasts fast recognition speed and high accuracy, and compares the guest’s ID and actual face in real time to confirm whether they match.

Mesacure Company forecasts that the global digital-based identity verification market will grow to approximately KRW 150 trillion by 2030. Lee Ji-hoon, CEO of Mesacure Company, said, “The identity verification market will expand from the financial sector to commercial transactions, and in particular, Korea is the first country in the world to introduce mobile ID, so the transparent and accurate identity verification market will grow rapidly,” adding, “The identity verification system to prevent fraudulent use in accommodation facilities will be a catalyst for market expansion.”
