(CEO Kangmin Ahn), which operates the tablet learning app 'Orzo' for middle and high school students and civil servants, announced that it was selected for the '2025 Service BM (Business Model) Overseas Expansion Support Project' hosted by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).
The '2025 Service BM Overseas Expansion Support Project' is a project that provides step-by-step support for overseas market entry and settlement of domestic small and medium-sized enterprises in the fields of edutech, franchise, ICT, and other promising services. Sling was selected as a 'debut company' in the edutech field after going through KOTRA's strict evaluation of business feasibility, suitability, performance goals, innovation, and expected effects.
With this project selection, Sling will receive a total of 35 million won in overseas marketing expenses from KOTRA, along with ▲establishment of overseas expansion strategy and consulting ▲production of video catalogs to introduce services ▲opportunities to attend promising overseas exhibitions and observe markets.
Sling is planning to launch a global version of the Orzo app in the first half of the year, equipped with learning content and functions to prepare for international exams held in those regions, as well as the Orzo AI Coach, which provides problem-solving guidance in multiple languages, with the US and Canada, which have similar tablet penetration rates and test structures to Korea, as its first countries to enter.
Orzo, which has established itself as an essential tablet learning app with over 800,000 cumulative downloads, provides a digitalized learning environment for test takers through convenient solutions to past college entrance exam and school exam questions using a smart pencil, along with learning functions such as automatic grading, an error notebook, and a study planner, as well as the 'Orzo AI Coach', an AI tutor that provides real-time, customized explanations to students through conversation.
Sling CEO An Kang-min said, “Since last year, we have been preparing for global expansion by selecting internationally recognized exams optimized for problem-solving learning through Orzo,” and “We will implement services so that the convenience and learning effectiveness of Orzo, which have been verified in Korea, can be experienced in global regions and take a leap forward as a K-edutech company.”
