Virtuos Establishes Korean Game Development Studio

Leading video game developer Virtuos announced the establishment of its Seoul studio, building on Virtuos’ long-standing commitment to strengthening collaboration with Korean game developers and publishers. Virtuos Seoul will connect Korean customers with Virtuos game development studios around the world, further strengthening creative and design capabilities. Since 2009, Virtuos has partnered with more than half of the top 10 Korean game studios, working on acclaimed projects such as Crossfire, Dave the Diver, PUBG: Battlegrounds, and Stellar Blade.

Virtuos Seoul will be led by Seunghwan Yoon, a 20-year veteran of the gaming industry. He has held a number of key roles at various studios, including as Senior Producer at Kabam and President of Webzen. With extensive experience in Asia, Europe and North America, he has a unique expertise in facilitating effective cross-regional collaboration and collaboration across complex multicultural environments. Yoon will report to Philippe Angely, General Manager of North Asia.

We expect Virtuos Seoul to introduce more Korean games to the global market, bring global games to the Korean market, provide new audiences for gamers, and provide new game content for gamers.”

Virtuos Seoul will serve as a strategic hub, addressing the unique cultural and market needs of Korea while facilitating collaboration between Korean game companies and Virtuos’ global production team. The Seoul studio’s core team, led by CEO Seunghwan Yoon, includes Director of Development Kyungjin Lee, who has over 20 years of experience in game development across all platforms and genres. Previously, Kyungjin served as Creative Director at Line Games and Character Director at Softmax. Additionally, Senior Business Development Manager Sangwon Seo and Executive Producer Okbang Wang have 10 years of expertise in Virtuos’ customer partnerships and project management in Korea. Together, they form a multilingual team with extensive experience collaborating effectively with Korean and global game studios.
