Dentronic, a dental AI robot specialist, and AIM Intelligence, an AI safety and security specialist, announced that they have signed a business agreement (MOU) for 'joint research on the safety and security framework of dental AI and robots.'
Both companies are technology-based startups founded by founders from Seoul National University. Dentronic is developing an assistive surgical robot arm for dental professionals and an AI agent for task automation, while AimIntelligence is recognized for its expertise in the field of safety verification and protection technology for AI models and services.
This agreement aims to develop a safe operation and standardized safety and security framework for AI-based dental robots used in medical settings. The two companies will jointly develop a framework that can become an international standard so that robot systems utilizing AI technology can be operated safely and reliably for actual patients.
Specific areas of cooperation include: △Development of AI-based robot safety and security benchmarks; △Establishment of criteria for quantifying and evaluating potential risks of AI robot systems; △Research on legal and regulatory frameworks for medical devices and robot systems; △Joint research on advanced technologies related to robot safety and security.
Choi Kyung-yeon, CEO of Dentronic, said, “Since securing patient safety is the top priority for AI-based medical robot systems, this collaboration will present international safety standards for AI robots in the dental field.” Park Ha-eon, CTO of AimIntelligence, emphasized, “As robot technology becomes more active in the medical field, it is an important time to establish a standard framework that enhances the safety and reliability of AI robots. We expect this agreement to contribute to establishing global standards in the medical robot field.”
