NewenAI (NewenAI), a company specializing in generative AI-based big data analysis, announced on the 11th that it had received the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award in recognition of its contribution to the 'Overseas Big Data Analysis Project' carried out by the International Culture Promotion Policy Office (formerly the Overseas Culture Promotion Service) of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Over the past 10 years, K-culture has rapidly expanded in the global market by converging with various industries such as K-food, K-beauty, K-fashion, and K-home appliances. Accordingly, interests related to Korea on overseas SNS have diversified, and the number of mentions has also increased significantly. This suggests that the status of the Republic of Korea national brand has been further elevated.
Reflecting this K-culture and the interest of foreigners around the world in Korea, NewenAI utilized AI analysis technology to analyze the influence of the Korean Wave and the national image based on overseas big data, and presented overseas promotional measures accordingly. This contribution was evaluated to have played an important role in promoting policies to enhance the national image.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Overseas News Analysis Team and Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology signed a business agreement to build an 'AI-based foreign news big data analysis platform' by 2026. This project plans to maximize the efficiency and accuracy of big data analysis by utilizing LLM, RAG, and PEFT (Parameter Efficient Fine-Tuning) technologies, and NewenAI will support the provision of data and establishment of a big data analysis system based on various AI analysis technologies such as TrendGPT, AI sentiment and context analysis.
Team Leader Choi Kang (Secretary) of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said, “Once the foreign news big data analysis platform is completed, it will help us understand current issues in the international community and the interest in Korea more accurately and closely,” and “This platform will be actively utilized as a core decision-making system of the International Culture Promotion Policy Office.”
