Seoul Robotics Registers Patent for 'Vehicle Remote Control Method and Server'

Seoul Robotics, a B2B autonomous driving company that is challenging for a KOSDAQ listing in September as the first autonomous driving company in Korea, announced on the 11th that it has registered a patent related to a ‘method and server for remotely controlling a vehicle.’ This patent is a core element of Seoul Robotics’ B2B autonomous driving software ‘Level 5 Control Tower’ technology, which detects vehicle location and obstacles based on infrastructure without installing hardware such as cameras in vehicles without autonomous driving functions, and the driving planning software is a system that transmits driving commands to driverless vehicles via wireless communication.

In particular, this technology can implement autonomous driving without safety personnel in the driver's seat or passenger seat even in severe weather conditions such as heavy snow or heavy rain, so autonomous driving is possible even in bad weather. In the existing automobile delivery process, the driver drives the vehicle himself, but if Seoul Robotics' technology is applied, the vehicle produced in the factory can be moved to the port unmanned, so the vehicle can be moved without a driver on board. As a result, automobile manufacturers can solve the problem of labor shortage, increase work efficiency, and improve safety.

Seoul Robotics is signing contracts with automakers using its ‘Level 5 Control Tower’ technology, and is generating revenue from the delivery process. It is currently in the process of signing contracts with multiple global major automakers.

CEO Lee Han-bin said, “The B2B autonomous driving software ‘Level 5 Control Tower’ technology developed based on this newly registered patent is significant in that it has automated the vehicle movement process within the factory that previously required drivers,” and “We are continuously receiving collaboration requests not only from major global automobile manufacturers but also from logistics companies, so the B2B autonomous driving market will grow rapidly both domestically and internationally.” He also said, “Seoul Robotics will lead the market at the center of it.”
