
Jeroncellvein , a specialized pharmaceutical manufacturing company, announced on the 11th that it signed an investment agreement worth 20 billion won to increase PDRN production capacity (CAPA) in Wonju-si, Gangwon-do.
This agreement, held in a small conference room in the new building of the Gangwon Provincial Government Office, is an agreement to purchase a factory site measuring 13,200㎡ (approximately 3,900 pyeong) in Wonju-si, Gangwon-do.
Following the Asan and Cheonan factories located in South Chungcheong Province, Jeroncellbein signed a contract to purchase the site of the Wonju factory in Gangwon Province, and plans to expand production of polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) raw material and 'Selbane Injection', a prescription drug for pain and inflammation treatment based on PDRN.
As the company expands its business in the future, Jeroncellbein plans to use the Wonju plant as a factory that can produce a variety of products. The company explained that it plans to continue developing products through R&D investments with a focus on future growth foundations.
Kim Deok-gyu, CEO of Jeroncellbein, said, “We will introduce a research and development base by combining the strengths and excellent technologies of Wonju, Gangwon-do, the center of the bio health industry.” He added, “Through this investment, we will not only build a state-of-the-art bio facility and contribute to the concentration of introductions and activation of an integrated ecosystem within the region, but also work towards the growth of Gangwon-do and global bio.”
He continued, “Through the purchase of the Wonju plant site, we have secured additional momentum for PDRN production capacity expansion and sustainable growth,” adding, “We are steadily conducting product development research utilizing Prism-T, a patented technology of Geroncellbein, and we expect this to have a positive impact on sustainable growth.”
Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Governor Kim Jin-tae said, “Since the launch of the 8th local government, we have attracted 43 companies, and more than half of them, 26 companies, chose Wonju. I will actively support them so that they can think that choosing Wonju was a good decision.”
Meanwhile, the production facility to be located in Norim-ri, Buron-myeon, Wonju-si, Gangwon-do is expected to utilize the infrastructure of nearby cities as it is close to the metropolitan area in the Wonju-Buron Industrial Complex and the Buron IC is scheduled to open soon.
