Union Community Acquires Patent for Pet Inscription Recognition

Union Community (CEO Shin Yo-sik) , a biometric security solution company, announced on the 11th that it has registered a new patent and utility model that improves technology for recognizing the nose prints (wrinkles) of companion animals.

This patent (registration number: 10-2766097) and utility model (registration number: 20-0498902) registered by Union Community relates to an optical inscription image acquisition technology designed to precisely recognize animal inscriptions. It is characterized by improving the inscription recognition accuracy affected by the environment, thereby securing clearer and more accurate inscription data.

The fingerprint recognition technology is expected to become a key technology for individual identification not only in companion animals but also in the livestock industry. The existing built-in and external wireless identification device methods have the disadvantage of being susceptible to forgery and can cause physical burden to animals. On the other hand, fingerprint recognition is gaining attention as a more natural and safer identification method because it utilizes the unique physical characteristics of animals.

Based on this patented technology, Union Community plans to expand the technology to various fields such as pet insurance, animal hospitals, and individual identification systems in public institutions. In particular, it plans to further strengthen its position in overseas markets by distributing the fingerprint recognition technology not only domestically but also in the global market.

Shin Yo-sik, CEO of Union Community, said, “This patent is a significant technological advancement that will further enhance the precision of fingerprint recognition technology, and will serve as an opportunity to establish a technological edge in the field of pet identification and management.” He added, “We plan to continue to strengthen our competitiveness in the domestic as well as global markets through continuous research and development.”

Meanwhile, Union Community has completed a total of 11 patent registrations and patent applications related to inscription recognition to date, and is continuously developing and securing original inscription recognition technology. In addition, it has been awarded a presidential citation in recognition of its contribution to the development of inscription recognition device technology.
