Rainbow Robotics , a robot platform specialist, announced on the 11th that it has signed a business agreement (MOU) with Tirobotics , a factory automation and autonomous mobile robot (AMR) specialist, for the purpose of promoting joint business to conquer the large-scale logistics automation robot market.
This agreement signing ceremony was held at the Rainbow Robotics headquarters in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, and was attended by Rainbow Robotics CEO Lee Jeong-ho and Director Lim Jeong-su, and Tirobotics CEO Ahn Seung-wook and Vice President Park Hyeon-seop.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to focus on developing and operating customized robot technologies and solutions by combining Rainbow Robotics’ robot technology and solution development capabilities with Tirobotics’ experience in developing and supplying medium- and large-sized autonomous mobile robots. Based on this, they aim to expand their share in the domestic and global robot and logistics automation markets.
In particular, the two companies plan to preemptively target related markets where demand for large-scale logistics automation robot technology and solutions is rapidly increasing, such as semiconductors, display processes, and clean rooms. To this end, Rainbow Robotics plans to collaborate with Tirobotics, which has experience supplying robots to global semiconductor equipment companies and in the North American logistics automation market, to introduce AMRs and collaborative robots ranging from 0.4 tons to up to 3 tons suitable for electric vehicle battery production processes, automotive parts transport automation processes, and clean room processes.
Lee Jeong-ho, CEO of Rainbow Robotics, said, “We expect that Tirobotics’ field experience and know-how in automation processes in semiconductors, secondary batteries, automobiles, etc. will create great synergy by combining with Rainbow Robotics’ robot platform technology,” and “Through this agreement, we plan to provide robot automation solutions optimized for manufacturing and logistics processes.”
Ahn Seung-wook, CEO of Tirobotics, said, “Both companies have strengths in the field of smart factory logistics automation, so we expect to improve product competitiveness and expand the market through cooperation.”
