Global content platform company Spoon Labs (CEO Choi Hyuk-jae) announced on the 10th that its short-form drama platform 'Vigloo' has successfully completed the 'Vigloo Writer's Room' workshop to support the development of short-form drama writers and secure intellectual property rights (IP).
Biglu is a short-form drama platform that is currently available in eight languages around the world. Since its official launch in July of last year, it has produced and provided content of around 2 minutes in various genres, including romance, thriller, comedy, and entertainment. It has presented over 220 works to date, and last month, it released its first original series and began producing its own content.
Writer's Room is a short-form drama writer training program that aims to jointly develop IPs to be used in Bigloo originals with creators. The Bigloo content team selected 12 participants through script sample screening and interviews, and from February 10, they collaborated with field staff once a week to teach script writing methods optimized for actual production environments.
The workshop covered ▲understanding and basic structure of short-form dramas ▲discussion of short-form drama items ▲feedback on short-form drama treatments (shortened scripts) ▲concrete content of short-form drama scripts based on market data insights. In addition, writer 'Jinsa', who is actively working as the editor-in-chief of the cultural media in Chengdu Sanqianyuejia, Sichuan Province, China, was invited to share trends in the rapidly growing Chinese short-form drama market and production know-how.
Biglu will award official certificates to graduates and will continue to provide opportunities to write Biglu original scripts, including opportunities to launch Biglu original scripts, 1:1 script mentoring, and support for activating a community dedicated to Writers Room.
A Writer's Room participant said, "I was able to learn from experts with extensive experience in short-form drama production how to create strong lines and impactful settings within a short running time." He added, "I will reflect the insights I gained from Writer's Room in my work to create more attractive and competitive content."
A Biglu content manager said, “Our goal is to create high-quality short-form drama IPs through close collaboration with writers,” adding, “We will seek opportunities for Writer’s Room activities to lead to actual original launches and create an environment where the platform and creators can grow together.”
Meanwhile, Biglu held the '2024 Short-Form Drama Battle-University League' for college students nationwide in February, and provided the three selected teams with special benefits such as opportunities to participate in short-form drama production, production cost support, and profit sharing, making efforts to discover new short-form drama creators and grow the industry.
