Content company HOW3 has attracted seed investment from Wow Partners. HOW3 is a content production company founded in 2023 by composer Kwon Jun-su, who goes by the stage name 'Rhythmking'. It is producing various content centered around the character of the same name, 'HOW3'.
As the virtual artist industry grows rapidly, various virtual music artists such as PLAVE, ISEGGYE IDOL, and StelLive are appearing in the market. Among them, PLAVE recorded meaningful sales, with its mini-album released this year selling over 1 million copies in its first week. In addition, IRISÉ, which held a brand collaboration pop-up store with Kolon Sports in December of last year, received a lot of attention even before its debut in February of this year.
In keeping with this trend, Howthree is currently producing the virtual character artist 'Howsam' and the animated music video 'Battle Seoul' featuring him as the main character, as well as various sound sources. 'Battle Seoul' is currently being prepared for its first release in June, and has completed the story development of the music video, which will be serialized for over a year, and has also completed trademark registration for the 45 characters that appear.
Battle Seoul, the background of 'Howsam's' activities, is a story centered around the anxiety that young people experience as they enter society, and delivers a message of self-reliance and self-reliance. It depicts a worldview in which young people break through the oppressive social atmosphere with music, and attempts to overcome social pressure through music.
Howthree's CEO Kwon Jun-su has built a diverse career as a composer, including winning awards at the Billboard Songwriting Contest while working as Rhythm King and becoming the first Asian to win the electronic music category at the 2010 John Lennon Songwriting Contest. He also participated in the production of Tim Burton's Wednesday OST and produced for Block B, Evil, and Bumkey, achieving #1 on Melon. Having worked as a music director at a mid-sized entertainment company since 2016, he discovered the potential of character artists who make music and founded Howthree in 2023.
CEO Kwon Jun-su expressed confidence, saying, “Since the main character is not a person but a character artist, we focused on the message and story that is delivered to consumers who listen to the music. We spent over a year preparing for the character development, sound source, and lyrics, so we believe that an attractive character artist will emerge.”
