JM Wave , an electric vehicle conversion specialist, and Yongma Logistics, a comprehensive logistics service company, have joined hands to innovate eco-friendly logistics.
The two companies signed a business agreement (MOU) at JM Wave headquarters on March 6 and agreed to strengthen cooperation in converting internal combustion engine 1-ton trucks into electric vehicles and establishing a sustainable transportation system.
Through this agreement, JM Wave will provide a service to convert 1-ton diesel trucks operated by Yongma Logistics into electric vehicles, and will establish a vehicle maintenance and repair support system to increase the stability of eco-friendly transportation solutions. Yongma Logistics will apply the converted vehicles to logistics sites to verify economic feasibility and operational efficiency, and promote expansion of distribution based on this.
The courier and transportation industries are accelerating the introduction of eco-friendly logistics systems in line with carbon neutrality policies and ESG management principles. However, due to issues such as the cost of purchasing new cars and lack of infrastructure, it is not easy to convert to electric vehicles, and converting internal combustion engine trucks to electric vehicles is attracting attention as a realistic alternative. Accordingly, the two companies will build an eco-friendly logistics innovation model that considers both economic feasibility and sustainability beyond simple vehicle conversion. Yongma Logistics will analyze the operational performance of converted electric vehicles in its logistics system, and JM Wave will develop customized conversion solutions based on this to support more companies to easily convert. In particular, as the economic and environmental effects of converting to electric vehicles, such as reduced fuel costs, reduced maintenance costs, and reduced carbon emissions, are expected, this collaboration is expected to further accelerate the eco-friendly conversion of the logistics industry.
Yongmaro Logistics is a comprehensive logistics company that was launched in 1983 as an affiliate of Dong-A Socio Group. Based on a nationwide transportation and delivery network and an advanced logistics information system, it operates services such as pharmaceutical B2B courier and 3PL (storage) logistics, and is continuously promoting logistics innovation and eco-friendly conversion. JMWave is a company that provides electric vehicle conversion solutions for internal combustion engine commercial vehicles based on electric vehicle conversion technology. It is conducting electric vehicle conversion projects from 1-ton trucks to large commercial vehicles, and is developing eco-friendly transportation solutions based on battery management system (BMS), motor, and inverter technologies. It is also leading the global eco-friendly mobility market by expanding its electric vehicle conversion business in overseas markets such as the Philippines and Cambodia.
Park Jeong-min, CEO of JM Wave, said, “This agreement is an important turning point in increasing the sustainability of the logistics industry,” and added, “We will lead eco-friendly innovation in the logistics industry through electric vehicle conversion technology.” Yongma Logistics Operation Support Office Manager (Senior Managing Director) said, “We will provide more sustainable logistics services through the introduction of electric vehicles,” and added, “We will contribute to the expansion of the eco-friendly logistics market by cooperating with JM Wave.”
Through this agreement, the two companies will pursue a long-term project that will change the paradigm of the entire logistics industry beyond simple technical cooperation. They plan to accelerate the eco-friendly transition through electric vehicle conversion and take the lead in creating a sustainable future logistics model.
