
Able Tech company Kangsters announced on the 7th that the first WheelieX Play esports competition has concluded.
This competition was hosted and organized by Kangsters and Airpass, and three welfare centers participated: Hanam City Welfare Center for the Disabled, Seongnam City Comprehensive Welfare Center for the Disabled, and Anyang Suri Comprehensive Welfare Center for the Disabled. The competition was held on February 28, and 24 athletes, including those with various types of disabilities such as severe physical disabilities, mild physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and non-disabled categories, participated, with a total prize money of 600,000 won.
The competition consisted of a total of 7 events, including 5 wheelchair racing events in the first division (wheelchair racing for severely disabled people 200m, mildly disabled people 400m, intellectual disabled people 400m, non-disabled people 400m, and 5km relay) and 2 donut crush and road bike events in the second division. Seongnam City Disabled Welfare Center won the overall championship.
Seongnam City Welfare Center for the Disabled Director Han Chang-kyung said, “Thanks to this competition, participants, spectators, and staff all had a great time,” and expressed his feelings about winning, “I hope that these e-sports competitions will continue to be held in the future so that users of welfare centers across the country can have the opportunity to participate.”
Kangsters CEO Kim Kang said, “WheelieX Play is a solution that allows wheelchair users to exercise through games,” and added, “Starting with this competition, we hope to distribute esports equipment to hundreds of disabled welfare centers, sports facilities, rehabilitation centers, and hospitals across the country, and to hold more esports competitions.” He added, “We hope wheelchair users can live healthy and happy lives with their families.”
