AI-based care robot company Hyodol has successfully completed linkage with the emergency control monitoring system in cooperation with SK Happy Connect. Through this linkage, Hyodol’s intelligent care service will be equipped with more sophisticated emergency situation detection and response functions, which is expected to further strengthen safety management for the elderly living alone and vulnerable groups.
This collaboration was promoted as part of the project “Development and verification of intelligent home services based on edge hubs using AI semiconductors and Matter standards”. The project aims to create an intelligent home service ecosystem by combining edge hubs using AI semiconductors, home IoT devices supporting Matter standards, and generative AI-based care robots. In particular, it focuses on developing customized technologies for the elderly and digitally vulnerable groups and, through these, improving the convenience of living in smart homes.
The emergency control system linked between Hyodol and SK Happy Connect provides real-time emergency reporting and AI-based counseling call services. The emergency reporting service operates by detecting in real time and responding immediately at the 24-hour control center when the user says “Save me” through the care robot Hyodol. After checking the situation, in urgent cases, it connects to 119 to support rapid dispatch. In addition, the AI counseling call service conducts AI health calls twice a week to the person who needs to be contacted to check on the user’s health and safety status. If additional confirmation is required, a counselor will call directly to reconfirm the status, and if necessary, take action by connecting with the guardian or relevant organizations.
The core part of this system linkage is to provide real-time information to the institution managers by connecting the database (DB) through server linkage and implementing information in the Hyodol monitoring system. This allows the control center and care services to be operated more efficiently and enables faster action in the event of an emergency.
The current project is in the second year stage, and the first year of verification (10 generations) has been successfully completed. Based on this, the second year of verification is expanding the verification generation to 100 generations and conducting full-scale verification and advancement work. Through this, the goal is to confirm the effectiveness of the technology and expand it to the B2G and B2C markets in the future.
A Hyodol official said, “Through this collaboration, we have been able to help vulnerable groups, such as the elderly and the disabled, live in a safer environment,” and added, “We plan to continue to expand our customized care services by utilizing AI and IoT technologies in the future.”
