Vieworks participates in 'Interbattery 2025'

Vieworks participated in the battery industry exhibition 'InterBattery 2025' held at COEX in Seoul from the 5th to the 7th, and showcased technologies for strengthening quality assurance (QA) and product safety in the secondary battery manufacturing process. In this exhibition, in addition to existing display, semiconductor, and PCB substrate defect inspection, the company announced plans for active market expansion into the secondary battery field and introduced related products.

Since its first participation last year, Vieworks has expanded its booth size by about twice and unveiled a total of 16 products, including ▲industrial cameras ▲industrial lenses ▲industrial X-ray detectors. In particular, it demonstrated a real-time demo optimized for the electrode manufacturing process, the first step in the lithium-ion battery manufacturing process, and the cell assembly process.

The electrode coating inspection demo using the 'VL' series high-speed line scan camera provided a solution to detect defects that may occur during the process of coating slurry, the basic material of lithium-ion batteries, onto the current collector. It helps prevent battery capacity deviation and the creation of defective electrodes by inspecting the uniformity of slurry coating thickness, pinholes, bubbles, and foreign substances.

Additionally, a cylindrical battery inspection demo incorporating a high-resolution area scan camera was demonstrated, which detects internal electrode lamination and misalignment as well as external defects in cans and pouches during the cell assembly process after electrode manufacturing, thereby improving battery safety and production efficiency.

In addition, the company has enhanced the completeness of its comprehensive inspection solution by introducing the 'VIVIX-V Series', an industrial X-ray detector specialized for battery in-line inspection. This detects the alignment status of battery electrodes and internal foreign substances, enabling the prevention of serious defects such as fire or battery damage in advance.

Through this exhibition, Vieworks plans to present an integrated solution covering battery electrode manufacturing, cell assembly, and post-process packaging, and to diversify machine vision applications. The company plans to accelerate its growth in the secondary battery market by offering machine vision solutions and X-ray imaging solutions based on shortened process times and high-performance detection capabilities.

A Vieworks official said, “In order to respond to the diverse needs of our customers, we will actively develop new markets through the high-performance machine vision solutions and safety-enhancing X-ray imaging solutions showcased at this exhibition.”
