Mobile game development startup CONSALAD INC announced on the 5th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with Dong-A University's Data Science Lab to develop a game production solution using generative AI technology.
Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to jointly develop a game production solution based on generative AI and strengthen industry-academia cooperation. The main contents of the cooperation are ▲Development of image generation AI technology that can be used in regional specialized industries such as games and manufacturing ▲Cultivation of local talent in the image generation AI field and linkage with internships and employment ▲Joint operation of practice-oriented education programs ▲Performance of industry-academia cooperation projects ▲Utilization of high-performance equipment and research facilities, etc.
In order to strengthen its R&D capabilities, Consalad will move its corporate research institute to Busan and conduct leading research in cooperation with Dong-A University to develop a ‘game image generation AI studio’ that improves game design productivity. In addition, it plans to hire a master’s researcher who has been studying AI technology under the guidance of Professor Cheon Se-jin of the Department of Computer Engineering at Dong-A University. In the future, it plans to actively promote AI-based research and development and commercialization by expanding collaboration with companies and institutions in the Busan area.
Kang Se-yoon, CEO of Consalad, said, “Through this agreement, we hope to advance game production technology using generative AI and contribute to expanding the AI technology ecosystem centered on the Busan region.” He added, “We plan to focus on fostering practical talent through industry-academia cooperation and putting AI technology to practical use.”
Cheon Se-jin, a professor of computer engineering at Dong-a University, said, “Through collaboration with Consalad, we plan to develop image-generating AI-related technologies in the gaming and shoe manufacturing industries, which are specialized industries in the Busan region, and conduct commercialization research,” adding, “Through this, we will contribute to fostering convergence-type talents centered on practical experience in specialized industries in the Busan region.”
