Seedronics attracts 15 billion won in investment

Seedronics, an AI ship autonomous navigation solution company, announced on the 5th that it had attracted 15 billion won in Series B investment. LB Investment, KB Investment, and the Industrial Bank of Korea participated as new investors in this investment round, and existing investors Wonik Investment Partners and Lighthouse Combine Invest also made follow-up investments.

Founded in 2015, Seedronics has established itself as a global leader in autonomous ship navigation solutions by developing situational awareness AI technology that was considered impossible in the marine industry based on excellent researchers and massive real-world operating data. In particular, it has proven its world-class, ultra-gap technological prowess by winning the CES 2024 Innovation Award, the world's first classification society type approval, and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' new technology and innovative product certification. In addition, it has participated in the government-led 160 billion won autonomous ship technology development project and has been cooperating with national research institutes to secure the country's future technology and strengthen industrial competitiveness.

Through this investment, Seedronics plans to further advance its shipboard AI and robotics technologies and fully advance into the global market based on contracts with overseas customers in Singapore, the Netherlands, and other countries.

Seedronics’ main solutions include the AI Operation Support Monitoring System (NAVISS) that supports smart navigation, AI software (Rec-SEA) that easily upgrades existing ship cameras, and the AI Port Management Monitoring System (AVISS) that provides integrated support for port operations. These solutions are the first of their kind in the world to be installed and operated in various marine environments, and are positioned as key infrastructures that innovate the safety and operational efficiency of the marine industry and realize autonomous navigation.

“Seedronics is proving in the global market that a market similar to automotive ADAS exists in the shipping industry,” said Oh Seong-in, a senior executive at LB Investment. “It is one of the few deep-tech startups that has generated overseas sales on its own in a conservative market, and we expect its growth in the global shipping and defense markets.”

Lee Jun-seok, investment director at KB Investment, said, “Seedronics is having a significant impact on market trends as a barometer of autonomous driving solutions and is leading the standards that comply with international autonomous driving regulations.”

“We are grateful for your investment in the future of autonomous driving through Seedronics. We will do our best to advance the future of autonomous driving by distributing AI solutions worth spending money on in the global market,” said Park Byeol-ter, CEO of Seedronics.
