Schneider Electric Partners with SK Telecom

Schneider Electric (Korea Branch Representative Kwon Ji-woong), a global company leading the digital innovation in energy management and automation, signed a partnership with SK Telecom (CEO Yoo Young-sang) for cooperation in the field of AI data center MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems at MWC 25 held in Barcelona, Spain.

AI data center MEP system plays an essential role in maintaining stability and efficiency from the design and construction stage of AI data center. Through this partnership, the two companies will discuss cooperation in the construction and establishment of hyper-scale AI data centers in domestic regional bases, and will cooperate in all business areas including parts, product solutions, and consulting in the MEP field.

By adding Schneider Electric's AI data center MEP capabilities and data center management platform technology that integrates power, cooling, and security to SKT's technology and know-how, which is actively promoting the expansion of domestic and international AI data center businesses, the synergy effect of the cooperation between the two companies is expected to be maximized.

In the future, Schneider Electric plans to develop joint solutions related to AI data centers through a long-term partnership with SKT and expand its AI data center business to the global market.

Schneider Electric has been working with Microsoft through a 30-year global partnership, and last year, it partnered with NVIDIA to optimize AI data center infrastructure and establish a foundation for digital twin technology, and presented a data center reference design.

In particular, Schneider Electric's data center power and distribution technology is world-class, and was selected as number one in the '2024 World's Best Sustainable Leading Companies' list announced by Time magazine last year.

Yoo Young-sang, CEO of SK Telecom, said, “We expect that our collaboration with Schneider Electric, a world-class AI data center solution provider, will greatly contribute to strengthening our company’s AI data center competitiveness and advancing into the global market.”

Pankaj Sharma, Executive Vice President (EVP) of Schneider Electric Secure Power and Services, said, “With our extensive experience and technological prowess, Schneider Electric provides optimized solutions across the entire MEP spectrum, including data center power infrastructure, cooling systems, and management solutions.” He added, “Through this collaboration, we expect to create the best synergy by combining it with SK Telecom’s AIDC operational capabilities.”
