On March 4, Rebellion signed an MOU with Penguin Solutions and SK Telecom at the 'MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2025' held in Barcelona, Spain. Through this collaboration, Rebellion plans to expand its business capabilities and technological prowess to the level of large-scale data centers by utilizing NPU products and technologies.
Rebellion has expanded its product lineup to not only cards but also servers and racks based on energy-efficient AI semiconductor technology. Penguin Solutions is an AI infrastructure specialist company that manages more than 85,000 GPUs and has a high level of AI infrastructure expertise. SK Telecom is strengthening its AI infrastructure business and actively investing in related companies including Penguin Solutions.
The three companies will combine their respective competitiveness and business experience to strategically cooperate to strengthen competitiveness and expand the market in the AI data center sector. First, they will cooperate to build AI infrastructure and create a corporate test environment, and by combining Rebellion’s NPU hardware and full-stack software technology with Penguin Solutions’ infrastructure operation capabilities, they will support corporate customers to verify and introduce NPU-based AI infrastructure. In addition, the three companies will jointly conduct technological collaboration to optimize AI data centers and develop a data center operation solution that can support both NPUs and GPUs.
Rebellion CEO Park Sung-hyun said, “The key to the AI era is efficient operation, and the energy efficiency and economy of AI infrastructure will be important evaluation criteria for customers.” He added, “This MOU will be an important first step in building an AI data center ecosystem so that companies with expertise in each field can collaborate to create synergy.”
