
The German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Korea (KGCCI) announced that it will be accepting applications for the '11th KGCCI Innovation Award' (hereinafter referred to as the Innovation Award) until May 14.
The Innovation Award is hosted by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Korea and officially sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. The Innovation Award, which began in 2015, was established to encourage companies that have created meaningful value in the Korean market through innovative business ideas and strategies, and to further promote business cooperation and exchange between Korea and Germany.
Companies wishing to apply for the Innovation Award should submit their applications through the website of the German Chamber of Commerce in Korea by midnight on May 14. All companies operating in Korea are eligible for application. The Innovation Award winners will be selected through a review by a panel of judges comprised of Koreans and Germans from the business and academic worlds based on five criteria: ▲level of innovation ▲market verification ▲impact on corporate performance ▲social benefits ▲diversity and inclusion.
Woo Ho-je, Senior Vice President of the German Chamber of Commerce in Korea, said, “Innovation is the driving force behind progress, and Korea and Germany are growing through innovation,” and expressed his expectations by saying, “The Innovation Award is a place to recognize companies that are changing industries beyond borders and leading international cooperation. We invite companies that showcase innovative technologies and draw the future together with the German Chamber of Commerce in Korea to the Awards.”
This Innovation Award ceremony is scheduled to be held in Seoul in the second half of the year. The winning companies will not only receive their awards at the ceremony attended by key figures from the political and business circles of both countries, but will also receive various opportunities such as support for promotional activities and business partner meetings for domestic and international business expansion through the strong network of the German Chamber of Commerce in Korea. In addition, they will be able to use the 'German Office' of the German Chamber of Commerce in Korea for one year, giving them the opportunity to build deeper relationships with the German market and business network. Non-member winning companies of the German Chamber of Commerce in Korea will be provided with a free membership for one year, allowing them to enjoy various benefits as members.
