
ZEP, an edutech platform based on the metaverse, announced on the 28th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with the Gyeongsangbuk-do Yecheon Office of Education and will begin creating a metaverse education ecosystem.
The main goal of this agreement is to improve the quality of local education by building a digital education environment. The two parties plan to cooperate in various areas, such as ▲development of metaverse-based learning and education content ▲development and operation of teacher capacity enhancement programs ▲building a metaverse service environment, to create a metaverse-based education ecosystem.
Jep plans to build a metaverse service environment for the Gyeongsangbuk-do Yecheon Office of Education by utilizing its own metaverse platform. In particular, in conjunction with key tasks being promoted by the Gyeongsangbuk-do Yecheon Office of Education, it plans to present edutech teaching and learning methods and lay the foundation for a new future education.
First, we plan to conduct various programs and training to strengthen the metaverse capabilities of schools and teachers in the district, and we also plan to jointly develop and operate educational programs for students in the district, such as digital and cyber ethics and deepfake prevention.
CEO Kim Sang-yeop said, “Based on the expertise accumulated in the field of edutech, we will create a customized digital education environment that suits the local education field,” and “Starting with the Gyeongsangbuk-do Yecheon Office of Education, we will cooperate with various educational institutions to strengthen the digital competitiveness of local education.”
Yecheon Education Support Office Superintendent Lee Chang-hee said, “I am very happy that the overall situation of Yecheon education can be transferred to the virtual world and shared with many students, parents, and local residents,” and added, “I will actively support it so that it can be utilized well for educational purposes.”
